Warehouses in Avonmouth are in demand as the customer base keeps growing

“Against an uncertain economic backdrop, the market for existing good quality distribution space in the south west has held up well.” Paul Hobbs, industrial director at GVA has said.

The region has become a hot spot for distribution and manufacturing premises. With good transport links, that will be improved further in the next couple of years, as well as the progression of an enterprise zone, and investors flooding in, Avonmouth is an ideal place to purchase distribution space.

Not only is it already highly in demand and highly valued but this hankering is on the increase.

UK-based express delivery company, City Link, are an example of this demand. They recently acquired a new regional distribution centre of 66,753 sq ft on 4.84 acres at Jc 17 M5, Bristol.

“In certain size ranges there is very limited standing stock, and that is now really halting some companies’ aspirations to expand.” Paul Hobbs has said.

A further local example of this has been Ocado taking 30,000 sq ft at Avonmouth, and on a wider scale, Amazon.co.uk committing to over 1 million sq ft in the UK over the last 12 months.

The future for distribution and manufacturing buildings in Bristol is positive as demand and value continue to grow.
