Deepwater port attracting companies near to Central Park, the warehouse premises in Avonmouth

Plans to build a £600 million deep sea harbour at Avonmouth are already tempting companies to move into the area. The area around our warehouse premises is buzzing.

The scheme will see one of the busiest container ship docks in Europe open in the South West and is expected top lead to the creation of more than a thousand jobs.

Work on the project has already started. A floating harbour is being used to carry out explanatory work on the bed of the Bristol Channel. The massive project will mean the harbour will be able to accommodate ships carrying up to 15,000 containers and a million containers are expected to pass through the port each year.

According to property specialist Colliers, businesses are already flocking to relocate to the area and many more are heading this way. Tim Davies of Colliers said: “Avonmouth is gearing itself up for major regeneration with knock-on effects felt throughout the South West. With direct rail and motorway access right at the port, warehouse and distribution sites around Avonmouth will be at a premium.

“Long term the economy in the South West will continue to grow and the big firms want to be as close to their customers as possible.”
