Warehouse buildings in Avonmouth with rail freight terminal benefit from the regions above par unemployment rates

Although unemployment figures were as grim as widely predicted, Bristol and the South West still fare much better than most other parts of the country. Our warehouses to let with rail freight terminal are pleased to see this.

The ONS provided a breakdown of each area for the first three months of the year. According to the latest available figures Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset still have much lower totals than most other parts of the country.

“Businesses are still creating jobs and only continuing private sector growth can help us out of the current tumult. With jobs falling in the public sector, it’s vital the Government does everything it can to support businesses to grow and create jobs, and help young people get into work.” Katja Hall, CBI’s chief policy director said.

Although the economy is still in unsteady waters and unemployment figures are at a low, news that the South West is faring better will be a boost for moral as well as the local economy. Investment can already be seen in Bristol, with distribution premises remaining in high demand. The news of lower unemployment rates will enhance confidence in Bristol as a place on increasing prosperity.
