New warehouse available in Bristol; which is back on the up
Our new warehouse premises, Central Park, is pleased to be part of a Bristol area that is putting the past 5 years of tough economic times behind it.
New figures showed the number of people claiming jobseekers’ allowance in Greater Bristol fell again last month. Meanwhile inflation has fallen and wages are slowly increasing, helping to ease the squeeze on costs of living. Cranes can be seen in the city skyline again as businesses feel more confident and start to invest in their future, meaning demand for new offices grows.
Dave Stallon, regional chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses for the West of England, said: “It is encouraging to see the latest job figures and the positive news about the economy in general and this ties in with recent FSB research which shows growing confidence among small businesses.” Recent business surveys from various organisations have reported more confidence going into 2014.
The latest Optimism Index, released this week by Bristol-based business advisors BDO, predicts business performance two quarters ahead and has increased, showing firms expect the economy to grow faster. Graham Randall, partner and head of BDO in Bristol, said the recovery was “now a reality”.
The Smith&Williamson Enterprise Index reported a similar picture. David Roper, a partner at the investment management and accountancy group, said: “It appears that the confidence felt by the UK’s wealth creators at the start of the year has returned with a vengeance. Separately, the number of enquiries we are getting from businesses looking to sell, make acquisitions and raise funding has more than doubled since the summer.”
Experts say to keep the momentum going, Bristol needs to invest in infrastructure, such as the South Bristol Link Road, currently going through the planning process.
