Network Rail has commenced work on a £13m multi-storey car park at Bristol Parkway train station. The extra 710 parking spaces are expected to be completed by the end of March 2014, and should help ease parking congestion in the surrounding area. The development should also make travel in and out of Bristol quicker, cheaper and less stressful.
Sarah McManus, from First Great Western, said the move would help both regular and infrequent customers. In the meantime, alternative parking will be available at nearby Parkway North and a shuttle bus service has been put in place. Network Rail hopes the new car park will encourage more people to use it as access in and out of the station will also be improved.
