Avonmouth logistics warehouse announces Farmfoods update

In March we announced that retail food chain Farmfoods chose Bristol’s Central Park as the location for a new package-handling warehouse. The building is a 175,000 sq ft temperature controlled distribution centre with an eaves height of 16 metres which is due for completion before the end of the year. This new facility is being developed by Delta Properties, along with their development partner Roxhill as a design and build freehold project.

Farmfoods has its roots in the distribution and handling of frozen food. It originated in Aberdeen in 1955 and has around 300 shops throughout Great Britain. Farmfoods grew its sales by 41.8 per cent over the 12 week period leading to 2 March, just before the announcement of their opening at Central Park.

We are also busy constructing the new on site rail freight terminal, which is also in progress currently, will become operational in early 2016 – a move Midlands-based Roxhill says will give the park national significance.

Farmfoods will be the second logistics occupier at the 600 acre Central Park, joining pallet distribution company CHEP UK at the gateway to the park.
